Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)What a disappointment! This book is a classic example of a Shiffer product: Great information and lousy photographs. Unfortunately, either through bad photos or bad printing, the images are virtually worthless to collectors who need to be able to see details and discern minute differences. The redeeming characteristic of this book is the printed list of Naval aviators at the back of the book.
It is too bad...all it would have taken is an editor with the nads to say, "Hey...these photos are sub-quality. Reshoot and resubmit."

This new book by Ron Willis and Tom Carmichael chronicles in full color the development of Navy wings, including variations in designation, design and makers from World War I to the present. Also included is a listing of 17,000 naval aviators by name and number up to 1942.
