A Rhodes Scholar, he trained at Caltech and was technical director of the Naval Ordnance Laboratory (NOL) at White Oak, Maryland for 25 years. The work is illustrated with numerous pictures and graphs. I recommend this work without hesitation for anybody interested in mine warfare. roger barclay, west virginia.
