(More customer reviews)This is in my opinion THE authorative book on Japanese Military Equipment to 1945. Since I already owned the Japanese version of this I knew it was nothing short of a five star book before ordering the English version. Imagine my disdain to realize more that 80% percent of the text in the book is not translated. The hastily prepared English translation by item number insert was pathetic, translating things like "Medal of the 5th order of the Sacred Treasure" (Japanese) to "medal" in the English version.
If you know what you are doing as a Japanese speaker, militaria collector or military studies major buy this book. Otherwise you may want to look for something more accessible.
