(More customer reviews)J. Thomas Scharf was a sailor in the Confederate Navy. After the war, he wrote this comprehensive, if somewhat biased history of the Confederate Navy. It is very complete, covering all theatres and facets of the Confederate Navy. It is a good read, although, as I said, pretty biased to the Confederate view. I like contemperary accounts, and this one should be on your bookshelf if you are interested in Civil War navies.
