I have decided to buy this book to read for myself and see if China of the 21st Century is going to be a benigning nation or practice hegemony, like the present-day U.S. which is using its naval power to "interfere" with other nations on this planet...! I hope that China, my ancestorial homeland would one day have a powerful navy to defend its long coastline as well as its island territories on East China Sea and the South China Sea. These islands have been China's inherent and historic territories since ancient times and there are ample documentary evidence to prove her ownership. Also, I hope, as an overseas Chinese, China would also expeditely build at least two aircraft carriers, nuclear-powered, so that they could fly the flag of the nation overseas as well as assured smaller nations of her protection. During the time of the native Ming Dynasty (1421 A.D.) China has a fleet of ocean-going warships commandered by the legendary Admiral Zheng He sailed as far west as the west coast of Africa. He and his benigning naval forces also quelled some local uprisings and were a force of goodness and greatly welcomed in every country he visited. In particularly, he was reverentially remembered in Malacca, Malaysia, where a temple was built in his name and a well in which he or she who could drink the water will be blessed...! Thus, let's hope that the coming Chinese aircraft carriers sailing upon the waves of the world would bring peace and harmony to all nations and give hell to the forces of darkness...especially the cowardly Somalia pirates...!
