IN A NUTSHELL: ORGANIZED INTO 6 TACTICAL PURPOSES WITH DETAILSO WHAT IS IN THIS VOLUME?BOTTOM LINE: ALL NORMAN FRIEDMAN'S BOOKS ARE A JOY FOR THE NAVAL ENTHUSIAST
It just doesn't get much better than this for understanding the purpose, development and utilization of nearly every significant naval weapon in use by the U.S. Navy since 1983.
Another volume for weapons since 1983, or an enlarged update to include all developments since 1983 along with the earlier work is now sorely needed. It is not that this volume needs improvement, far from it, but much has happened to affect the tactical requirements of the U.S. Navy since the end of the Cold War, and so their arsenal has evolved as a result of their changing roles.
