His stories are what the Navy is really about -- the men and women deployed around the globe doing a difficult job better than anyone else in the world. You just don't see a flight deck, you meet the sailors that launch the aircraft and wrestle them back on the deck. You hear their voices, feel their pride and loneliness, their commitment and their boredom. Any parent who has a son or daughter in the Navy should read this book if they want to know what their kid is doing in the Navy. It's hands-down the best account of the daily lives of America's sailors.
